Electrodialysis: Analysis of efficient green process for desalination and purification of phenylalanine

Electrodialysis is a kind of technology that uses ion exchange membrane and direct current electric field to make the ions of electrolyte in solution produce selective migration, so as to achieve the purpose of solution desalination, concentration, purification and refining. The following is its application in phenylalanine desalination:


principle
The negative and cation in phenylalanine solution move to anode and cathode respectively under the action of direct current electric field. The cation exchange membrane in the electrodialysis device allows only cations to pass through, and the anion exchange membrane allows only anions to pass through, so that a difference in ion concentration is formed on both sides of the membrane, thus achieving the separation of phenylalanine and salt.

- Efficient removal of inorganic salts: can effectively remove the inorganic salts in phenylalanine fermentation solution, such as the use of electrodialysis process to treat phenylalanine fermentation solution, inorganic salt removal rate is greater than 95%.
- High product purity: it can significantly improve the purity of phenylalanine, and the purity of phenylalanine can reach 98% after electrodialysis treatment.
- Low energy consumption: When treating phenylalanine fermentation liquid, the power consumption per unit volume is about 6kWh/m³.
- Simple process control: the whole process control is simple and easy, no chemical substances are added, no solid waste residue is produced in the treatment process, and the generated waste water can be recycled for fermentation process production, and will not cause environmental pollution.
